I wake up early, have water and coffee, and then go outside to check on the garden, which I planted in March.
I like to walk with Benji in the morning. Admittedly, I will often check email or listen to a podcast at the same time – although now I’m trying to walk without multitasking.
When home I’ll get to work – screening my videos to do any edits or writing copy for the website or social channels. I have meetings four days a week about the yoga channel, collaborations and the yoga studio I co-own.
My business partner recently moved back to Austin, so we’ve been shooting the videos here at the house together. It feels like we’ve come full circle – because it used to just be him and me when we started out. Even though the business has grown, the mission of Yoga with Adriene hasn’t changed – to provide as much free yoga to as many people as possible.
I do try to practise yoga for myself. I also like to walk and run – and recently my boyfriend and I have been getting on the paddleboards – we feel like the cool kids. Then in the evening, we’ll either cook, read or watch a show or a movie. During quarantine, I started a Spanish class, which is something just for me. And I recently enrolled in a neuroscience academy. I think it’s time that I garner the vocabulary to talk about the science behind a lot of what we’re doing.
On Sundays, I don’t work or make plans. It’s my ‘me’ day – and I milk it.
