For those thinking that her abs were only possible through intense cardio and workout routines, you would be mistaken.
Better yet, her exercise routine is not only relatable but easy to accomplish, too.
Wang relies on a balanced routine for her utterly jaw-dropping body. Instead of hours spent with a rowing machine, Wang practices consistent exercise and thoughtful wellness rituals.
Meaning? Even for those who loathe the gym, her enviable figure is attainable.
To find out exactly how Vera Wang maintains her healthy physique and well-being, we’ve brought together everything the designer has shared from what she eats per day to how she incorporates moderate to minimal exercise.

EXERCISE: Keep A Regular Work-Out Routine
While the fashion designer is currently spending the coronavirus pandemic working from home, it seems that the people around her have had a huge influence on her newly discovered exercise routine.
In a recent interview with Harper’s BAZAAR U.S., Wang spoke about the pressures of working with colleagues that are all “extremely fit” and that it has pushed her “to work out most days.”
On an Instagram post, the designer mentions her disdain for the exercise equipment, with the caption: “This photo depicts my personal conflict between loving athleisure clothing but dreading the treadmill!”
Thankfully, it seems like loving to exercise and staying fit are not necessary to attain a physique like hers.
EXERCISE: Bike Riding And Weight-Lifting
It seems that frequent treadmill sessions or intense cardio aren’t the only methods to achieving a toned body.
In an interview with InStyle, Wang emphasised her distaste for exercise, and how she prefers to work on more passive sports, like golf.
“I’m not a huge exercise person, but I love to play golf at Liberty National, in Jersey City, N. J., or at Atlantic Golf Club in the Hamptons if I happen to be out there. I’m terrible but enthusiastic.”
DIET: Stick To A Clean Diet
When it comes to her diet, the wedding gown designer’s focus on health lies in what she eats.
In another interview with Harper’s BAZAAR U.S., Wang explains that the key to her healthy diet is that she ensures to “never miss a meal; I have to feed my brain.”
However, her healthy diet isn’t limited to the same nutritious meal every day, in fact, she prefers to switch it up, saying: “I go through phases with what I eat for lunch: I like sashimi with brown rice and vegetables, Chinese steamed broccoli with chicken and rice, or the artichoke salad or fish from Sant Ambroeus.”
DIET: Keep Hydrated
Along with her healthy food consumption, the designer makes sure that everything that she consumes, whether it be food or drink, be completely restorative for her body.
She also advocates for sticking to her healthy choices, saying: “I only drink water; I stopped drinking Diet Coke six years ago. That was the hardest thing I ever gave up.”
DIET: Indulge In The Occasional Treat
Despite her flawless figure, Wang makes sure that certain treats aren’t completely off the menu, and even calling herself a “chip freak”, during her 2016 interview with Harper’s BAZAAR U.S.
“We have a candy pantry, a cereal pantry, and a pantry for what I call “orange food”—Cheetos, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, all kinds of chips.”
WELLNESS: Balanced Lifestyle
When it comes to maintaining her health and looking young, Wang expressed that for her, it pretty much comes down to a balanced lifestyle that allows for the odd indulgence.
When asked a fan on Instagram commented on one of her posts asking how she maintains such a svelte physique, Wang responded: “Work, sleep, a vodka cocktail and not much sun.”
WELLNESS: Self-Care Is Key
As treats are common place in her diet, self-care has also become a vital part of the luxury designer’s daily routine, sticking to the simple things that keep her the most relaxed. When describing her nightly routine, Wang walks through how important she finds bathing and the way in which is helps her unwind.
“My evening really begins when I take a long, hot bath. I light a candle, and I turn on the news and try to catch up. It’s when I can breathe from the day to the night, and that means a lot to me.”
WELLNESS: Pamper Yourself
When speaking to InStyle, Wang wraps up her rituals by dedicating time to her beauty routine, and explains how she also tends to find the process productive.
“The other is having my hair blown out. I have such long, thick hair that some days I want to chop it all off. Sitting there is an annoyance, but at the same time, I am able to get a lot of work done.”
