From giving up carbs to loading on protein, people try all sorts of things to lose weight. But I have come to realise that everybody is different and what may suit one, may not suit the other. So when a friend insisted that I should have dalia for dinner every day to lose weight quickly, I thought of giving it a try for a week to see if it actually was useful. Here is how it went
Toughest was to break the habit
Like most North Indian families, dinner is the only meal we eat as a family. From roti sabzi dal to dal chawal with a portion of salad, I thoroughly enjoy the simple food we have together, everyday. There are also days where we get a little more indulgent and cook chicken curries or mutton curries. So moving to dalia for dinner was a big thing but I tried it anyway. I measured myself on Day 0 and decided I will step on the scale only on Day 7.
