Actually, self-realization was the turning point of my life. I finally understood being healthy was the ultimate priority in life and it comes before anything else. I was overweight for around four years and I wanted to do something before but I couldn’t as I was a hardcore foodie. When the realization dawned in that I really needed to lose weight and get back in shape, I truly did not look back. Hence, I started my journey on March 23, 2020.
My breakfast: I used to drink a bottle of water after waking up, followed by a cup of black coffee. For breakfast, I used to have oats with water and less salt. Occasionally, I used to eat idly or dosa.
My lunch: I understood the importance of vegetables. I just reduced the quantity of rice by replacing it with vegetables. Weekly, once or twice I used to have biryani, which is my favourite.
My dinner: Brown bread with peanut butter or a bowl of oats
Pre-workout: I used to drink a lot of water, half an hour before my workout.
Post-workout: One small banana
I indulge in: My mantra during my weight loss journey was that if I felt like eating something, I ate it. Given that it was within the macros count.
I used to take weekly cheat meals as it was needed to boost my metabolism and ward off any feelings of deprivation.
Taking a little break and indulging in what you like not only improves your ability to lose weight but also helps you stick to your diet plan. Cheat meals are very important.
